FAQ

When registering on SurveyMonkey Apply, it asked me to choose a time zone. I live in San Diego, what should I choose?

You should select "(GMT- 0800) America/Los Angeles", which is already set as the default option if you do not scroll through all of the options.

What if I can't answer 'yes' to all of the eligibility questions? Can I still apply?

All applicants must satisfy all of the intern eligibility requirements for their program at the time of starting an application. Therefore, you will have to postpone applying until you are able to answer 'yes' to all of the eligibility questions. For more specific questions regarding eligibility, please email us as PathmakerInformation@palomarhealth.org

Can I apply as a Level II College/Adult intern if I am 18 years old but have NOT graduated high school yet? What if I am graduated from high school but not 18 yet?

In order to apply as a Level II College/Adult intern, you must be BOTH 18 years old and graduated from high school or equivalent. If you do not meet both of these requirements you should apply as a Level I High School intern and you can transition into the Level II intern role once you satisfy all of the requirements.

Can I apply as a Level I High School intern if I am not 16 years old when applying but will turn 16 shortly after the application is due?

All applicants must satisfy the intern eligibility requirements at the time of starting an application. Therefore, if you are not 16 years old by the time you start an application, you must postpone applying to the Level I High School internship until you are 16 years of age.

Why can't I complete the Get Recommendations task before verifying my email address?

Verification of your email address is necessary because most of our communication is done through email, and we want to make sure our applicants are receiving the information we send out. When registering for an account in SurveyMonkey Apply, a verification email will be automatically sent to you. While you may work on your application without verifying your email address, you will not be able to submit your reference information or submit your completed application.

I'm not getting SurveyMonkey emails to my inbox. What should I do?

The most common fix is to add SurveyMonkey Apply to your email provider's safe sender list so emails are sent to your inbox instead of your SPAM/JUNK folder, but there may be another issue. Click on this link for more information.

One of my Academic/Professional recommenders did not receive the Recommendation Survey or is no longer able to complete the survey. What should I do?

You have the option to resend surveys or change recommenders when you are logged into your account. To replace a recommender, click the three dots to the right of the recommender's name and select "withdraw request". To resend a survey, click the three dots to the right of the recommender's name and select "resend request". If you have resent the survey and your recommender has still not received the survey, please have them check their SPAM or ask your recommender to use a different email to send the survey to. It is your responsibility to have all recommendation surveys completed on time. Therefore, we encourage you to send recommendation surveys ASAP in case technical issues arise. If none of the previously mentioned options have worked, please email the Recruitment Team at PathmakerInfo@PalomarHealth.org for assistance.

How do I know if my Academic/Professional recommender completed a survey on my behalf?

When you input a recommender's information, it will indicate that the survey has been requested. The applicant will receive an email when the recommender has accepted the survey and another email when the recommender has completed the survey. Once a recommender completes the survey on your behalf, a checkmark will appear next to the recommender's name and will say it is completed.

My recommender is running into a 404-page error. What should they do?

A 404-page error generally occurs when a recommender is already signed into a Survey Monkey Apply account. To fix this, the recommender should go to https://palomarhealth.smapply.io/ and log out of their account. If any issue persists, please have your recommender email PathmakerInfo@palomarhealth.org for assistance.

I have completed all of my tasks; Is my application submitted?

Not yet. Before submitting your application, checkmarks will appear in your portal next to "Get Recommendations" and "Complete Your Application" indicating both of those tasks have been completed. Once both tasks are completed, you must click "Review & Submit" by 5:00 pm (PST) on the 21st. If you do not press "Review & Submit" by 5:00 pm (PST)  on the 21st even though both tasks have been completed, the application will not be submitted to the Recruitment Team for review, and thus will not be considered.

I logged in on my phone to submit my application, but I don't see the "Review & Submit" button. Where can I find it?

We recommend for you to complete all your tasks and submit your application using your computer or tablet. The mobile view of our application site is not optimized for phones and may not have all features easily accessible.

I submitted my application successfully, now what?

Once you submit your application, your application will enter the review stage. The Recruitment Team will be reviewing all submitted applications and notifying applicants of interview invitations. If you have not heard back from the Recruitment Team regarding your application status by the 24th, you should email PathmakerInfo@palomarhealth.org as soon as possible.

If I am not invited for an interview, will I still receive an email updating me on my status?

Yes, all applicants will receive an email with a status update.

I don't have a professional headshot. Does this mean I have to go get one taken professionally?

No, if you do not already have one you can take your own professional headshot. This photo should be of you only, with no other people in the photo. It should be a clear photo of you from your shoulders upward, against a solid background, and in professional attire. "Selfies" are not considered professional headshots.
